CHAOS AT THE GROCERY STORE

Postby kmussack » 19 Oct 2017 10:44

On my way back to the office from the gym I stopped at a grocery store to build a salad for lunch.
Walking toward the check-out lanes I observed CHAOS.
There ha been a momentary power interruption and all the electronic cash registers were down awaiting a reboot.
A portend of things to come.

Ugh
I have had to deal with "the masses" quite a lot in the past few days.
I will be kind and say no more...

You want entertainment, pay them and watch them 'TRY' to give you back the right amount of change if their super cash register isn't working. LOL
It takes a village......to feed a T Rex

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you!

I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying, "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.

In this lies an interesting dilemma;

The store is full of food.
Your pocket is full of money.
You can't buy the food because the electronic cash registers don't work and the store management has no contingency plan.

The employees are either unable, unwilling or forbidden to improvise.

The sophisticated data processing system designed to facilitate transactions and control inventory blocks those very same transactions when it is broken.

We've become so dependent upon our electronic slaves that they have become our masters.
