Yea, me too!

On this board, most internet boards you have to be THICK SKINNED as there are trolls out there looking to start a fight. So, know your beliefs and know that others can do nothing to threaten those! ;)

survivalist96,

for what it's worth, I don't approve of most of what the federal government has done during my lifetime. No reason to beleive it was any better back then. Just alot of young (and some not so young) men killed on both sides for nothing, benefitting no one but those with money and power. Some things never change.

regards,

Howdy all,

First off, an apology to survivalist96. I, Low-key, am the self-appointed jester/joker/trickster of this crew and I was only funnin' with you. Missourian knows this, wordherder gets this, however you did not and thought I meant offense. I mean no offense. Missourian points out that I like to hand out a ration, it's true I do. I can also take my ration, that's how the game's played. I do this in an attempt to lighten the mood and raise morale. However, I know Chieftain Joe likes a happy ship and would probably keel-haul me(is that just a pirate thing, or do Vikings do that to?) if he thought I was stirring up the crew (probably why he's got that darn Missourian dogging me....). As offense was taken in front of the whole crew, apology is offered in front of the whole crew.

On a more serious note, survivalist96, I think you SHOULD reach out to your fellow North Carolinians. Get holt of wordherder and simpleman an' all, establish contacts, heck, call yourselves the Tarheel Southern Viking Faction or something, but by making something positive out of it you can build cohesion, comradery, etc. and all that contributes to the strength of the crew (and that's a positive thing that Chieftain Joe would like). I mean, look how Missourian has that all-MO faction whipped into shape! "Where there's a whip, there's a way!"

"We've put out the word to folks to join us from your area but apparently they've already met you! Sorry that your feeling lonely!  "

BTW Missourian, nice Smilies, my kids use them too, when they email their mommy.... Isn't there supposed to be some sorta interstate rivalry between Kansas and Missouri? Or is that Kansas and Oklahoma? Or as a Southerner, should I be siding WITH the Missourians? Woulda been nice if they'd handed me a guide to this kinda stuff when I moved here....(Low-key, a confused, conflicted Viking).

survivalist96, I take my Civil War history seriously too. I'm a NATIVE Virginian, from right on the border of Fairfax and Loudon Counties. I'd've probably ridden with Mosby if I was around in those days, my ancestral family home was in his AO. That's why I like to tease the damnyankees, remind them about the "hard war", about Sherman writing in his memoirs that by what he was taught at West Point, he was a war criminal, about Sheridan and Custer hanging POWs 'cause Mosby made them look like yuckapucks, etc., etc., etc....Aww, now I've gone and gotten all preachy and no one should have to listen to that (except for my poor, long-suffering spouse, a good-girl from Tennessee who took on a difficult job)....Low-key, a Viking who sometimes runs off at the mouth....

Well let me say as a displaced German living in the home of the Carpet Beggers ( New York), I mean Baggers, ooops, :P

I respectfully hope that your good and noble ancestors would rather team up to squash us carpetbaggers

than quarrel among themselves. I thought if Low-key was the Jester, and Missourian the Sage, and Survivalist 96 the Voice of Sound Reason, and Wordherder my new found Herbal Teacher and Poet...

well heck, where does that leave me...

oh, yeah, peeling potatoes or cleaning the latrines because I am definately TIHCKER ans DENSER than anyone here! Don't you all dare to team up on me and try to steal my

spot !   I worked for it! Hard!.......... 8-) (I always wanted to use that smiley! I finally did, so HAPPY! 8-) 8-) 8-) .........and yeah I dont spel so wel eitder

I am very lucky. My wife was raised in Georgia when young ....she has always been our family's saving grace... Have pity on her ;) ... she has to put up with my news all the time... ...though I dare say her kind Southern manners do cause her to bite her tongue sometimes where my ramblings are concerned ...She is truly a gift to me and helps me see calm and patience, and not fall and trip, when I am ready too run out the door and shout at the world (again.......), thus saving me from breaking a leg or worse before I fall off that box I have again climbed up on to spout off...

I believe it is a potato box, come to think of it ....

Thankyou, survivalist96, you are too kind and a true Southern Gentleman. :D

And I am very lucky again. More than lucky, I am honored. I am honored to know you. I am honored to know you all.

One of the most important skills for survival is the ability to maintain a sense of humor in the face of adversity.
It's a pleasure to be among such a skilled bunch!

You know MosinNagant, it's not like these are not important jobs. I will definitely start sniveling and complaining when I gotta eat raw, cold, unpeeled potatoes, again. And you wanna see an unhappy crew? Just let the toilet back up one time. Then Chieftain Joe starts pitchin' non-rowers overboard and it's all downhill from there....
