ANOTHER DAYLIGHT RAID

Postby kmussack » 11 Aug 2017 10:32

My wife just sent me this image in a text message.
We’ve suffered another daring daylight raid.

I hate to have to put up a fence but it may be necessary.

Fence is too much work. I would convert it to jerky or roast to go with the vegetables.

I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying, "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.

"I hate to have to put up a fence but it may be necessary." My online research has shown that one is none and two is one when it comes to fences. Tall does not help. Two short may be better. Maybe five feet apart? I forget what I read. We are under a Google ban. I do not think encyclopedias touch this topic. The five feet could be the chicken run.

The double stacked wooden snowman looks a bit like an arrow target. So nice of the deer to stand right there broadside. You sir have mighty accommodating deer.

Recently you posted pictures of a future dream building on the property. I propose any other building you might build see if it can have a nice extra roof area where you can sit in a nice comfortable chair above the orchard. At some point that orchard is going to want to need some deer manure to continue productivity. Great time to open the tractor gate.

That "Snowman" target is for chuckin' Hawks.

On the left, between the trees is the score keeping system. We use wooden "doll heads" strung on a rope not unlike the system used for billiards.

got a text from the son yesterday, seems a moose went through and did a number on his garden too. Fence? he had one...

Where does a two thousand pound moose go? Anywhere it wants.

I've seen deer clear 6 foot high fences regularly. They treat them as a small hinderence
